One hundred years ago, the historic Victorian home Lawndale had been standing for nearly thirty years. It was also the year that Margaret Williams Rainwater, granddaughter of H.S. Williams, who built Lawndale, was born.
In 2026, as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, Margaret Williams Rainwater celebrates her 100th birthday. Friends of Lawndale invites the community to join in honoring this remarkable milestone during a special birthday celebration on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Lawndale, 1219 Rockledge Drive, Rockledge, Florida.
The afternoon will feature live music, light refreshments, and an opportunity to celebrate Margaret’s lifelong connection to one of Brevard County’s treasured historic homes. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the festivities on the grounds of Lawndale.
Tours of the historic home will be offered throughout the afternoon. A highlight of the celebration will be the presentation of a Presidential Birthday Greetingto Margaret at 2:00 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
